Is your city buzzing with circular ideas and initiatives that could use a BOOST? This is your chance to nominate it as the host of the Circular Economy BOOSTcamp 2015! (The Netherlands only)
The Circular Economy BOOSTcamp will be co-organised by Circle Economy, MVO Nederland, De Groene Zaak and Het Groene Brein. During this three-day event you welcome a great variety of people and organisations, including entrepreneurs, designers, consultants, young professionals, officials and scientists. Together with your municipality they will identify new opportunities to accelerate the transition from a linear towards circular economy locally. Many municipalities face challenges that counter their progressive ideas to change the economical chains in their city, as for example changing legislation. The goal of the 2015 BOOSTcamp is to break through those obstacles and build sustainable relationships that can lead to future action.
The cities of Almere and Amsterdam, respectively, hosted the first two editions of the circular economy BOOSTcamp. During the most recent BOOSTcamp 2014 the city of Amsterdam successfully created a network to support them in becoming a circular city by 2030. They also provided with help and support to pursue their circular ambitions. One of Amsterdam’s main goals is to develop circular neighbourhoods, in which they will focus on efficient use and reuse of water, energy, and resources. Significant issues were addressed at the BOOSTcamp, for example how to use the current infrastructure in these new developments. The business district the Zuidas as well as the Buiksloterham neighbourhood are two areas of the city that are now ‘under circular construction’: a circular city park and a local feedback system will soon be the results.
The next hosting municipality should be a frontrunner on the circular economy and should welcome inspiration, knowledge and skills from different experts and motivators. If you are interested in being the next host for the BOOSTcamp, let us know via this form. To get a better impression of the event, please visit the website or the video channel. In September 2014 we will announce which municipality will be hosting the Circular Economy BOOSTcamp 2015, and maybe your municipality will be boosted next year.
