The Circular Economy BOOSTcamp is a powerful three day event where a group of professionals, experts and young talents will give a circular BOOST to the region where the event is held. This year the event is held on 28, 29 & 30 May in Nijmegen and focuses on Healthcare, Energy and the City Island in the river the Waal. You can now register for this event through the CEboostcamp website.Three full-power action days and tangible resultsThe overall aim of this event is to come up with practical ideas to establish the region of Nijmegen as a hotspot for the circular economy. Participants will work together to come up with creative solutions for current challenges within the fields of Healthcare, Energy and City Island in the Waal.Within the topic healthcare we will focus on different cicular challenges within this sector locally. Participants exploring the topic of energy will focus on BOOSTing local sustainable energy projects. What locally available energy sources can we use in this region and how can we best do that? Within theme city island we will focus on circular area planning: housing, recreation, nature, water and events. What should this island look like?Local representatives on all three topics will participate. This way the results of the three day event will be put into action and embedded in the city. Together we will take real steps towards the creation of ‘the circular city of Nijmegen’.Who should join?Obviously, breakthroughs in this area cannot be achieved in splendid isolation. Therefore, representatives from health, energy and area planning sectors from all over the world are more than welcome to join our endeavour. If you have knowledge of circular projects that can be relevant to these topics you are also more then welcome to join. We aim to bring together a mixed group of passionate entrepreneurs, scientists, students, municipal and government officials, local residents and all others who wish to contribute.Why Nijmegen?Nijmegen is a city with many possibilities and committed inhabitants. The region of Nijmegen has an inspiring entrepreneurial climate and a strong presence of knowledge- and healthcare institutions and big companies from multiple sectors.Why a BOOSTcamp?Circular cities are essential for a future proof society. These cities will not produce waste but use (parts of) leftover materials as resources for new products.
